MARSHALL MULTISPREAD 9160
LAUNCHED AT DOWERIN FIELD DAY

Roesner Pty Ltd, manufacturers of the Marhsall Multispread all purpose fertiliser spreader, officially launched the 9160 Multispread at this years Dowerin Field Day. The 16 tonne capacity 9160 is the newest edition to the Multispread range which features models from 2.5-16 tonne capacity.

Over the past ten years the amount of lime being spread across Australia has increased dramatically. High application rates when spreading lime have lead to increased demand for machines with larger carrying capacities that reduce spreading time and fuel costs. The 9160 was developed in response to this.

The 9160 comes equipped with a self-steering walking beam tandem suspension made by BPW. The suspension provides a smooth ride and turning in the harshest of paddock conditions, the self sterring set of rear wheels reduces crop damage when the spreader is cornering. The rear tyres are hydraulically locked when reversing, preventing dangerous "jack-knife" situations. The suspension assembly can be fitted with optional drum brakes to suit a compressed air system.

Trelleborg 600/55-26.5 flotation tyres are fitted as standard wheel equipment. Running at low inflation pressures the Trelleborg Tyres reduce damaging soil compaction and provide superior flotation in wet paddock conditions.

The 9160 features the 900 Series Endless Belt system. A 875mm wide PVC endless belt is driven by a 285mm diameter rubber coated roller that is grooved to ensure maximum grip and minimise slippage. The feedbelt is supported by stainless steel rollers, running on nylon bushes, eliminating the need for lubrication and reducing corrosion caused by modern fertilisers. Two troughing roller assemblies are located on the underside of the belt to ensure the feedbelt tracks correctly at all times.

Application rates are controlled by an RDS Pro-Series Apollo 8000 hydraulic controller located in the tractor cab. Up to 8 different product settings can be stored in memory, and data from up to 75 paddocks can be recorded for future reference. The Apollo can be interfaced with Loadcell Weighing Systems and compatible GPS receivers for VRT treatments.
